Amb. Chief Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina-Commissioner

That Man is Amb. Chief Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, a redeemed hope of the marginalized. This is the case, as a leader is not made but born. A true leader does not believe in division but spends positive energy to unite and build winning teams. This is a truism of His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio’s newly appointed Commissioner of NaCSA.

Before his appointment as the new Commissioner of NaCSA, Amb. Chief Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina was Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and was also accredited to eleven other Asian countries. According to Heritage Newspaper, it was during his tenure that the government of President Bio harmonized the long overdue disparity in stipends for students with and without government scholarships in that country.

It was also during his time at the Sierra Leone Embassy in China that Sierra Leone was able to achieve a sustained support and financial commitment for the shipment of personal effects of students who had completed their studies in China. Before his intervention, the publication affirmed that, there used to be discontent and disquiet amongst young Sierra Leoneans pursuing different courses in China.

Being a team player, Amb. Chief Ndomahina did not take the praises but acknowledged his boss at State House. It was noted that on Tuesday 8 January 2019, while briefing His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio at State House in Freetown, he said: “Your Excellency, I will remiss in my responsibility if I do not underscore your unflinching support and commitment to making all these possible. The full collaboration of colleagues in Government has also been very important. The tripartite meeting held between the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, the Chinese Ambassador and myself in Freetown has been most instrumental to avoid future misunderstanding.”

He disclosed to the writer how he would ever be grateful to His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio for giving him the opportunity to serve his country abroad and for now giving him another opportunity for serving the country within. He described the President as “a compassionate mentor who loves Sierra Leone so much”. He promised to serve the Head of State with all his ability and to be committed to his vision of a better Sierra Leone.

Amb. Chief Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina was born in Kenema on 28th of July 1973 to a modest couple Mrs. Elizabeth Kona Ndomahina of Pujehun descent and Honorable Ernest Reuben Ndomahina of Taiama, Moyamba District. His father was an elderly statesman and educationist who was the first Principal of Bo Teachers’ College. Prior to his death, Hon. ER Ndomahina faithfully served Sierra Leone as Minister of Education, Leader of the House of Parliament, and Resident Minister Southern Province.

Amb. Chief Ernest Mbaimba started his career from a humble beginning through Christ the King College (CKC), Government Secondary School Bo (Bo School), Taiama Secondary School, and St. Andrews Secondary School in Bo. He is an Alumni of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone.
