*Friday 31st July 2026* - The Deputy Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Dr. Susan Robert, was yesterday in Kambia District to oversee the symbolic fourth tranche payment to 2,818 adolescent beneficiaries under the PSSNYE Project. This milestone event forms part of the government’s broader commitment to empowering young people, particularly adolescent girls, through education and social protection.

Representing the Commissioner, Dr. Susan Robert expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio for his continued support for women and girls across Sierra Leone. She underscored the President’s leadership in advancing gender equality and promoting opportunities for adolescent girls, noting that such initiatives are vital for building a more inclusive and empowered society.

In her remarks, Dr. Robert emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of progress and the most powerful tool for shaping the future of young people. Beyond financial assistance, we are committed to providing training opportunities that will empower them to thrive and build a better future.”* Her remarks underscored UNICEF’s role in complementing government efforts to strengthen adolescent development and inclusion.

The event also drew strong support from local leadership. Pa Adikalie, Town Chief of Rokupr, welcomed the NaCSA and UNICEF teams and expressed gratitude to the government for prioritizing adolescent girls in his community. *“We thank the government for bringing this support to our communities. Rokupr and other towns receiving these transfers will ensure that the beneficiaries make the best use of the assistance. This is an opportunity to change lives, and we will stand with our girls to see it succeed,”* he affirmed.
