NaCSA COMMISSIONER PAYS COURTESY CALL ON SLPHA LEADERSHIP, COMMENDS PORT TRANSFORMATION...

The Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Chief Amb. Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, on Thursday 17th September 2026 paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Yankuba Askia Bio, and the Deputy Director General, Madam Judith Boi Kosseh.


The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for the NaCSA Commissioner to engage the leadership of the SLPHA and acknowledge the significant progress being made in the transformation and modernization of the Port of Freetown.


During the meeting, Commissioner Ndomahina commended DG Bio and his management team for what he described as the “remarkable transformation” taking place at the Port of Freetown. He noted that the ongoing reforms, infrastructure development and modernization efforts have significantly enhanced the Port’s outlook and operational capacity.


According to the NaCSA boss, these developments have positioned the Port of Freetown as one of the fastest-growing ports in the sub-region, reflecting the impact of sustained efforts to improve port infrastructure, efficiency and service delivery.

Receiving the Commissioner, Mr. Bio expressed appreciation for the visit and the recognition of the work undertaken by SLPHA and its stakeholders to transform the Port of Freetown. “The progress being recorded at the Port is the result of collective efforts involving SLPHA, government institutions, private operators and other port stakeholders,” not5red Director General Bio, stressing the need to sustain the momentum and build on the gains already achieved.


The courtesy call concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of continued institutional engagement and collaboration in support of Sierra Leone’s development aspirations.
