The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) today held a formal bid opening ceremony at its Headquarters in Freetown, marking another milestone in the Commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the implementation of its development programmes.

The exercise commenced promptly at 10:00 a.m. and brought together key stakeholders involved in the procurement process. The NaCSA delegation included the Senior Director of Programme, the Director of Programme, the GPCYE Programme Manager, the Senior Engineer, and the Assistant Engineer.

Also in attendance were representatives from Eco Lead Consultants, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), and the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA), who provided technical oversight and ensured compliance with national procurement standards.

The bid opening exercise was conducted in an open and transparent manner, consistent with established procurement regulations. It provided an opportunity for participating firms and contractors to witness the impartial handling of submitted bids, reinforcing public trust in NaCSA’s procurement procedures.

The bidding process forms part of the Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Empowerment (GPCYE) initiative, a German-funded project sponsored by KfW Development Bank, aimed at promoting youth empowerment, skills development, and sustainable livelihoods across targeted communities in Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the event, NaCSA officials reaffirmed the Commission’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all procurement activities are guided by the principles of fairness, integrity, and competitiveness.

The occasion signifies NaCSA’s continued dedication to promoting good governance and strengthening institutional accountability as it implements critical interventions to improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans nationwide.
