*Freetown, Sierra Leone – September 23, 2026* The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) today formally presented its Fiscal Year 2027 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) Budget to the Ministry of Finance, marking a significant step in advancing Sierra Leone’s social protection and youth empowerment agenda.

The presentation was led by Commissioner Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina and the Deputy Commissioner of NaCSA Dr Susan Robert, who outlined the Commission’s strategic priorities for the coming fiscal year. The FY 2027 MTEF Budget emphasizes Provide Emergency Cash Transfers to 30,000 beneficiaries, Provide temporary employment to 22,000 youths from LIPW interventions across programmes; train and provide grants to 1,000 youths for business development, Construct 50 social infrastructures in selected rural communities, Rehabilitate a total of 23.57km of Feeder Roads in Bonthe (7.7km) and Moyamba (15.87km) and reinforce the capacity of construction companies in feeder road rehabilitation and Secure approval of the SLCDD III programme aimed at enhancing sustainable and resilient food security and social wellbeing of rural communities.

The event drew strong endorsement from non-state actors, civil society organizations, and the media, who commended NaCSA’s transparent approach and commitment to inclusive development. Stakeholders highlighted the importance of aligning the budget with national priorities such as poverty reduction, resilience building, and the Government’s Feed Salone Agenda.

Commissioner Ndomahina reaffirmed NaCSA’s dedication to expanding coverage of social protection programs, enhancing livelihood opportunities, and strengthening institutional systems for transparency and grievance redress. He emphasized that the FY 2027 budget is not only a financial plan but also a roadmap for consolidating progress and accelerating inclusive growth.
