NaCSA and Islamic Microfinance Subproject Consultant Discuss Implementation Updates...

*Monday 26th May 2025, NaCSA House The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has met with a team of Islamic Microfinance consultants from the Inclusive Resource Management Ltd to discuss critical Issues around the implementation of Islamic Microfinance sub component of the Sierra Leone Community Driven Demand (SLCDD II – Gientrenk) Project.


On behalf of the Commissioner of NaCSA, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, Deputy Commissioner Jimmy Batilo Songa expressed profound gratitude to the Inclusive Resources Management (IRM) team for the immeasurable support thet have give to NaCSA and by extension the people of Sierra Leone, and the successful launch of the IMF Initiative. He acknowledged the significance of the initiative in fostering financial inclusion, empowering communities, and enhancing economic resilience.


Deputy Commissioner Songa reassured that NaCSA remains fully committed to ensuring the effective execution of the initiative. He affirmed that the team is well-prepared to provide comprehensive updates and insights, fostering transparency and accountability in the process. As the program moves forward, he encouraged continued collaboration and innovation, reinforcing the dedication to delivering meaningful and lasting impact for the communities served.


The Programme Manager for SLCDD – Momoh Juanah expressed deep appreciation to Deputy Commissioner, Jimmy Batilo Song, and the Senior Management Team for their unwavering support to the successful implementation of the SLCDD project. He acknowledged their dedication and commitment, which has been instrumental in driving progress and ensuring the initiative meets its intended objectives. The Programme Manager highlighted the productive engagements with Apex Bank, underscoring their shared commitment to advancing the succeed conclusion of the IMF Initiative.


Dr. Muhammad Khaleequzzaman, Chairman/CEO of IRM, conveyed strong optimism regarding the future of the Islamic Microfinance subcomponent under the SLCDD II project. He underscored the critical need for timely execution, recognizing the transformative impact this initiative could have on communities seeking financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Dr. Khaleequzzaman reiterated IRM's unwavering commitment to supporting NaCSA in ensuring a seamless and effective rollout of the initiative. He emphasized that collaboration between all stakeholders is vital to achieving the project’s objectives and maximizing its reach among targeted beneficiaries.


This implementation update was done with critical participation from the Senior Director of Programmes – Md. Regina Saffa, Senior Director for Programme Development and Quality Assurance – Dr Susan Robert and other members of NaCSA’s management team.
