President Bio’s Vision Celebrated as NaCSA Welcomes New Deputy Commissioner...

*Friday 21st November 2025, NaCSA House* - Following the parliamentary approval of Dr. Susan Robert as Deputy Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), the outgoing Deputy Commissioner and now Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, officially handed over his functions and associated amenities.

In his farewell remarks, Sir Batilo reflected on his tenure, noting that the Commission is now in “peaceful and capable hands.” He recalled his first statement as Deputy Commissioner, where he promised to build a safe haven—an institution where every staff member would have the opportunity to realize their full potential. He acknowledged the challenges faced along the way but emphasized that the turning point came when His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio appointed Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina as Commissioner. Together, they launched a rebranding strategy to realign NaCSA’s operations and staff with the President’s Big Five Game Changers. Sir Batilo expressed gratitude to the staff and extended heartfelt thanks to President Bio for his leadership and vision.

In her maiden address, Dr. Susan Robert expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio for his unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and political participation. She described the President as a true HeForShe champion, noting that her vision as Deputy Commissioner is fully aligned with that of the Commissioner and, ultimately, with the President’s national development agenda. She pledged to work diligently with Commissioner Ndomahina to actualize this vision and ensure continuity in the Commission’s transformative work.

Commissioner Ndomahina welcomed Dr. Robert warmly, emphasizing that her appointment represents a new era of collaboration and inclusivity. He highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, stressing that having a female Deputy Commissioner strengthens the Commission’s resolve to deliver on its mandate. He called on Dr. Robert to serve as the “mother of the Commission” and his “right hand woman,” reaffirming that NaCSA will continue to operate within the parameters set by President Bio.

The handing-over ceremony concluded with gestures of empowerment for protocol officers and renewed hope for staff across the Commission. As one staff member remarked, *“Our Batilo is gone, but a mother has come with the same energy and commitment.”* This transition not only marks continuity in leadership but also stands as a testament to *President Bio’s visionary commitment to inclusive governance, women’s empowerment, and institutional transformation.*
