As Part of the GPCYE Implementation Support Mission, Amb. Ndomahina Hosts KFW Delegates...


The Commissioner for the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Amb. Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina has on *Wednesday 7th May 2025* hosted a delegation from the German Development Bank (KfW) to initiate this year’s project implementation support mission. This visit plays a crucial role in facilitating the ongoing partnership between NaCSA and KfW, aimed at advancing community development and poverty alleviation efforts.


NaCSA is spearheading the New Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Employment (GPCYE) Project, which is significantly funded by the German Development Bank (KfW). This initiative is designed to foster economic growth and social stability within local communities.


During this year's mission, the focus will be on closely monitoring the progress of several key infrastructure projects currently underway. These include the construction of vital feeder roads, essential bridges, grain storage facilities equipped with auxiliary structures, and the establishment of boreholes paired with water towers to improve access to clean water. The delegation will further actively engage with various project stakeholders in the targeted districts of Kambia, Kono, and Bonthe.


In his welcome address, Commissioner Amb. Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina reaffirmed NaCSA’s steadfast commitment to fostering a collaborative partnership with the German Development Bank (KfW). He emphasized the importance of this alliance by stating, *“We will not move forward without you. We will work hand in hand, plan together, and implement our strategies collaboratively.”*


Commissioner Ndomahina highlighted that His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio has established a comprehensive roadmap aimed at significantly boosting investment in both agriculture and human capital development. He explained that the Commission, has strategically aligned project implementation framework to support the national development plan, ensuring that efforts resonate with the country’s broader economic goals.


The technical expert from KfW, alongside Michael Scheweter, the Technical Leader from Eco Consultant, attended the meeting in person. They emphasized the ongoing commitment of the German Development Bank (KfW) to the project and its objectives. Additionally, Md. Hannah Determent-Sergion contributed to the discussion via a virtual connection, sharing her expertise and offering valuable insights that enhanced the overall dialogue. Her participation underscored the collaborative effort and importance of integrating various perspectives in the project’s development.


In conclusion, Commissioner Ndomahina expressed profound gratitude to the Government and people of Germany for their unwavering support. He acknowledged that the ongoing funding for projects is a direct result of the success achieved in previous phases, underscoring the mutual benefits of this partnership in promoting development in the region.
