NaCSA to Commence Construction of Skills Training Center in Shenge...

 

*Saturday 1st May 2024, Shenge, Moyamba District* – The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has commenced preliminary discussions with the relevant parties to construct a skill training centre in Shenge – Moyamba District. This intervention is within the national development framework of His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. 

 

In his passionate statement to the people of Shenge and by extension Moyamba District, the international development expert, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina reiterated the expressed commitment of His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio in providing the basic needs of all Sierra Leoneans including *‘’the wonderful and welcoming’’* people of Shenge. *’’…the tok and do President, Dr Julius Maada Bio and his government have taken Prompt Actions on Poverty Alleviation. These actions target every Sierra Leonean regardless of tribe, region, or political affiliation. Our presence here in Shenge is a demonstration of inclusive leadership from the Presidency down to the management at NaCSA.’’* Ambassador Ndomahina noted.

 

He further reiterated the importance of the project focusing on human capital development and beyond. *‘’Strategically, the skill training centre will build the resilience of the human capital of Shenge and provide sustainable cash flow which will contribute to the development of Shenge and beyond. Let me state that the success of this intervention requires support from the people of Shenge and I plead with you all to take advantage of the opportunities the skill training center will bring. At this inception stage to the operationalization of the center, your support as a community is critical.’’* Ambassador ended.

 

Honourable Veronica Kadie Sesay of Kargboro Chiefdom, Moyamba District was part of this strategic engagement. She commended NaSCA for the various ongoing and completed developmental projects in the district, including the laudable initiative to construct a skills training center in Shenge. She further added that she would follow up on the project till completion and provide support for the center to be operational. Honourable Veronica ended by extending thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio for directing development to the people of Shenge.

 

Dr Susan Robert, is the Senior Director for Program Development and Quality Assurance(SD-PDQA)and has been part of NaCSA’s implementation for many years providing strategic leadership including monitoring and evaluating projects implemented by the Commission. She narrated the journey of past successful developmental Projects NaSCA had embarked on in Shenge and further admonished the people to own the project.

 

The Parmount Chief of Kargboro Chiefdom; PC Alex Kamara welcomed the development and pleaded to the Commissioner to bring in more development in the community. He further assured the Commissioner that the community will monitor and own the project.

Receiving the project plan from the Commissioner of NaCSA, The Madina General Construction Engineer; Mr Simeon Fefugula expressed the commitment of his company in ensuring that the project is completed within the eight-month duration.
