*Freetown, Thursday 20th November 2025* — The World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission for the Productive Social Safety Net and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) Project concluded in Freetown on 20th November 2025 with a strong endorsement of progress. The mission rated the project’s implementation as *“Satisfactory,”* signalling alignment with development goals and positive impact on vulnerable populations across Sierra Leone.
The wrap-up meeting brought together key national stakeholders, including the Mayor of Freetown, the Statistician General, NASSIT leadership, the National Youth Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission, and other institutions. Their participation highlighted the cross-sectoral importance of the PSSNYE and reaffirmed collective commitment to its success.
Stakeholders emphasized dedication to achieving the project’s objectives: strengthening social safety nets, expanding youth employment, and building institutional capacity for social protection. Co-financed by the World Bank and the Government of Sierra Leone, the project has already delivered cash transfers, supported labor-intensive public works, and promoted youth skills development.
Presentations were led by World Bank Co-Task Team Leader Aisha Monifa Williams and Human Development Specialist Hannah Buya Kamara, who provided strategic insights on social protection, human capital development, and inclusive growth. On behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, NaCSA Commissioner Amb. Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina expressed gratitude to the World Bank and partners, describing the project as a lifeline for thousands of Sierra Leoneans.
Other leaders reinforced the project’s impact: the Mayor of Freetown highlighted youth employment benefits and dignity through community work; the Deputy Statistician General stressed the importance of reliable data; the Anti-Corruption Commission emphasized accountability and transparency; and the National Youth Commission underscored youth engagement and aspirations.
The mission’s conclusion and positive rating validate the progress made while calling for deeper collaboration. As Sierra Leone advances toward inclusive growth and resilience, the PSSNYE stands as a transformative platform built on partnership, vision, and commitment to empowering communities.
